As it is shown here, the Quick access menu (available since V3.6) is enabled: it's buttons provide a means to quickly access the most frequently used functions. From here, all functionality can be accessed - simultaniously, in most cases. This workcenter can be switched to float on top of your desktop, in order to remain easily accessible when many dialogs are simultaniously opened. An avarage MCBase desktop view (click to enlarge).![]() This is a sample of an avarage MCBase working situation (you can click on the image to see a full screen view). At the top, you see the MCBase main program window (in functionality, really only a toolbar), from where all functions can be accessed. In this situation, the user was looking up a song from a particular album. The user started out, by picking the list "View albums by artist", from where he/she picked the required album. This brought up a list "View albums by title", containing all album details. Next the required song was selected, wich brought up a dialog with all song details. All the dialogs shown here, contain button commands to enable an immediate jump to various related functions... A selection (listbox) dialog![]() This is a sample of a selection dialog. In this dialog, the user can select the artist required (using the "Artist database navigation" combobox and buttons), while all songs related to that selected artist will appear in the listbox portion of the dialog. From there, the user can jump to various functions to look up related data. A report preview window![]() This is a sample of the report preview window, in reduced size - normally these windows start out in full screen size. As the window scrollbars indicate: this isn't the full report page width - the picture would become too large or the data to small to be readable... The Album data dialog![]() What you see here, is the new look of the Album data dialog. All relations are set using listboxes (the "Relation selectors"), with which you can select the item of your choice by either picking it from the list, or typing the first characters of the item concerned (which will focus the list towards that item). The (Rich Text) memo containers are accessible by accessing their appropriate buttons. The Song data dialog![]() This is the Song data dialog. Here also, all relations are set using listboxes. This method ensures a quick, flexible and reliable way to setup your collection data. Also shown here, are the access buttons for the additional memo containers for sound & video clips, that are used in some of the databases. The "Import status" dialog of MCbaseUtilities.EXE![]() This is a view the import status dialog of MCBaseUtilities.EXE, the external utility functions program. In this take, the conversion of a MCBase V2.x database set to a new V3.x database set is almost complete... |
